Instructor: Chef Leigh Ann van Cuylenburg

At ANATTA, we believe cooking and baking is as essential a life skill as mathematics, swimming, or physical sports. That’s why we consistently curate & offer classes for children aged 7 to 12 years old, which is the critical age for learning.

Learning points:
This series of 8 classes that run concurrently with the school term exposes children to a variety of basic but technical skills in cooking & baking. Each class helps them build confidence in the kitchen, teaching them how to work safely with heat, tools, and ingredients in a controlled, child-friendly environment.

Safety & focused guidance:
All classes are conducted with a 1:5 Instructor–Student ratio to ensure safety and dedicated support for every child.

Age group: 7 to 12 years old

The same recipe is offered for the Tuesday & Saturday in the same week

Recipe 5 – 10 Jan (Tue) & 14 Jan (Sat): Chocolate Chip and Ham & Cheese Scones

What You’ll Learn:

  • How to make scone dough from scratch using the rub-in method
  • How to safely cut butter, mix dough, and portion it evenly
  • How to shape the scones
  • How to mix in chocolate chips and savoury ham & cheese
  • How to bake scones so they rise tall, tender, and golden
  • How to whip butter to a smooth and fluffy texture for serving
